For women, education is the key to gender equality, economic prosperity, better health and much more. For over a century, based on this belief, the (CFUW)Canadian Federation of University Women has played an important and active role advocating for women’s rights and leadership in all spheres of society. CFUW’s work, advancing women’s education, ensures that future women leaders are financially supported through their awards and fellowships. These fellowships and awards fund a range of graduate studies.
About the Scholarship
In the 2025-2026 CFUW Charitable Trust will support fourteen (14) awards for full-time graduate degree students (Master’s and Doctoral). Awards are valued between $5,000-$11,000 for one year.* Applicants may apply for up to two awards.
The program is open to the first 225 submitted applications.
An Eligible Applicant Must:
- Identify as a woman.
- Are a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada; or have proof of status as a Protected Person from Immigration and Citizenship Canada (claimants are not eligible to apply).
- Have enrolled or have been accepted to a full-time Master’s or Doctoral program, at an accredited university as of the application deadline, and as stipulated in the requirements for each award.
- Are graduating in spring 2026 or later.
