Cenovus Energy STEM Scholarship

The Cenovus Energy STEM Scholarship is focused on empowering and attracting enthusiastic high achievers who are pursuing education in science, engineering, technology, or math (STEM) disciplines. The program provides both financial support and mentorship opportunities to these promising students. Successful recipients will demonstrate a strong commitment to their community through leadership, or other community or family involvement. As well as demonstrate alignment to our Cenovus values.

Here's what you need to know.

NUMBER, VALUE, AND DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS

A total of one hundred (100) scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students in a STEM program. Seventy-nine (79) to students attending a Canadian institution and twenty-one (21) to students attending an eligible American institution as per the list below.

These scholarships are valued at $5,000 CAD for Canadian institution OR $5,000 USD for American institution for a first bachelor program, tenable for one academic year.

You are eligible if you:

  • are a Canadian or American resident (excluding California residents);
  • are planning to start or continue full-time studies in your first bachelor's degree in the 2024-2025 academic year;
  • are studying in a STEM program. STEM programs include the following four disciplines: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics;
  • have a minimum cumulative average of 85% or equivalent (3.4 GPA) over the last three semesters of available marks. (Non-academic courses, such as career or personal development related courses, will not be considered.)

Eligible institutions

  • Canadian educational institution that has recognized degree, diploma granting powers.

    • Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) in Superior, Wisconsin
    • University of Minnesota—Duluth, Minnesota
    • The College of Saint Scholastica, Minnesota
    • Lake Superior College (LSC) in Duluth, Minnesota
    • University of Houston, Texas
