Cenovus Energy STEM Scholarship

The Cenovus Energy STEM Scholarship is focused on empowering and attracting enthusiastic high achievers who are pursuing education in science, engineering, technology or math academic disciplines. The program provides both financial support and mentorship opportunities to these promising students. Successful recipients will demonstrate a strong commitment to their community through leadership, or other community or family involvement. As well as demonstrate alignment to our Cenovus values.

Value and duration of scholarship

Up to forty (40) individual scholarships will be available to undergraduate students in a STEM program. Thirty-four (34) to students attending a Canadian institution and six (6) to students attending an eligible American institution as per the list below.

These scholarships are valued at $3,500 CAD per academic year and are renewable until the first bachelor’s degree is obtained or to a maximum of four consecutive academic years, whichever occurs first.

An eligible applicant must:

  • be Canadian or American (excluding California residents);
  • be entering or already enrolled in full time studies in a first bachelor in the 2022-2023 academic year;
  • be studying in a STEM program. STEM programs include the following four disciplines: science, technology, engineering and mathematics;
  • have a minimum cumulative average of 80% (or equivalent) over the last three terms of available marks*. Nonacademic courses such as career or personal development related courses will not be considered.

  • Canadian educational institutions which have recognized degree/diploma-granting powers.
