The Giller Mantella Scholarship, presented by Mantella Corporation

The Giller Mantella Scholarship is a collaboration between The Giller Foundation and Mantella Corporation. The scholarship is for Black, Indigenous and racialized students across Canada graduating high school and interested in continued education in creative writing and literature. The scholarship will award $10,000 to three deserving recipients each year to further their education. The program will run for three years with the potential to be extended.
Eligibility
You are eligible if you:
- Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Are in your final year of high school (outside of Quebec) or final year of CEGEP (in Quebec);
- Are planning to start full-time studies in your first bachelor’s degree or diploma in English Literature, Writing or Creative Writing;
- Identify as a Black, Indigenous, or racialized student as per Statistics Canada categories;
- Have a minimum cumulative average of 75% or equivalent over the last three terms of available marks.
Requirements
- Letter of reference;
- Transcripts of the last three terms of available marks;
- A 300 to 500-word essay describing your passion for literature.
