Molloy Medicine Award
The Molloy Medicine Award supports undergraduate students of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program in Canada. This award was generously created by the estate of Brian Molloy.
In the 2026-2027 academic year, the Molloy Medicine Award will support up to 16 non-renewable scholarships. Scholarships are valued at $10,000 each for one year.
Applicants must have existing ties or past efforts to work, study or volunteer with the following vulnerable or underserved populations: addiction and mental health, Indigenous communities, refugees, and immigrants, rural or remote communities, people of diverse sexualities and genders, home, and long-term care.
Eligibility
You are eligible if you are:- a Canadian citizen
- registered as a full-time undergraduate student in the MD program at a Faculty of Medicine at an accredited school of Medicine in Canada
- entering the third or fourth year of your program when applying for the scholarship (i.e. first- and second-year students are not eligible to apply)
- in good academic standing
- graduating in spring 2027 or later.
In addition to the $10,000 scholarship, successful applicants may be eligible for additional funding of up to $2,500 if they complete one clinical elective in family medicine prior to August 2027, or if they are accepted to a Family Medicine Residency through the R1 Match in the same year they receive the award. This additional funding is separate from the $10,000 scholarship, is not guaranteed, and is subject to the availability of remaining program funds.
