The RBC Green Skills Scholarship aims to support adult learners who are interested in returning to education to achieve their goal of developing innovative solutions for pressing environmental challenges.

The scholarship encourages and inspires the development of new pathways in five sectors of the Canadian economy: buildings and construction, agriculture and food production, transportation, waste management and recycling, and renewable energy.

About the Scholarship

In 2025, the RBC Green Skills Scholarship the program will award up to 40 scholarships valued at $5,000 CAD to students entering or enrolled in part-time or full-time studies at the Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree (course-based or research-based), Advanced Diploma, Post-Graduate Diploma, Technical Diploma, or Post-Graduate Certificate levels.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada; or have proof of status as a Protected Person or Convention Refugee from Immigration and Citizenship Canada (claimants are not eligible);
  • Be an adult learner over the age of 25 who is starting or returning to post-secondary studies to develop innovative solutions to pressing environmental challenges.
  • Must be active in the workforce or seeking employment (cannot be retired).
  • Must be entering or enrolled in part-time or full-time studies at the Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree (course-based or research-based), Advanced Diploma, Post-Graduate Diploma, Technical Diploma, or Post-Graduate Certificate levels in an eligible field of study.
  • Applicants pursuing a Bachelor’s degree must not have graduated from high school within the past seven years.
  • Applicants pursuing a course-based or research-based Master's degree must not have completed or graduated or been enrolled in studies leading to a degree or diploma (i.e., Bachelor’s degree, Post-Graduate Diploma) within the past two years.

  • Must be enrolled in a field of study related to buildings and construction, agriculture and food production, transportation, waste management and recycling, or renewable energy.
  • Please note: In 2025, the program will be open to the first 200 submitted applications only.
