Cause We Care Foundation is a Vancouver-based registered charity founded in 2007 to assist local single mothers and their children in need. Cause We Care strategically invests in the success of single mothers by supporting programs and initiatives that empower them to achieve economic security, build capacity, and create a positive future for themselves and their children.

The Cause We Care Single Mothers Support Fund (SMSF) is a holistic fund supporting single mothers who are restricted by financial barriers yet have the resilience, desire, and determination to complete educational or job training programs in order to improve their economic security.

Number, Value and Duration of Scholarships

Multiple non-renewable grants will be available per year. Successful applicants will be eligible to receive up to a maximum of $10,000. The level of funding provided is determined by the individual circumstances of each applicant and is designed to remove funding gaps and barriers by providing integrated financial support. Applicants must have their primary tuition funding in place before a grant request will be considered.

Eligibility

An eligible applicant must:

• Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident,
• be a single mother residing full-time in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland with dependent children living with them;
• be accepted or already enrolled in full-time or part-time studies at a recognized post-secondary institution or vocational training program OR
• be a recent graduate of a post-secondary or vocational training program and starting a business within 12 months of graduation.
