Telesat Women in STEM Scholarship

About the Scholarship:

This award is aimed at closing the gender gap and inspiring the next generation of female innovators and leaders. At a time when women continue to remain underrepresented in the fields of STEM, and where technology continues to rapidly transform the way we live, we can and should work to empower more young women to take an active role in that transformation.

Number, Value and Duration of Scholarship

Eight (8) scholarships will be available at the bachelor’s degree or college diploma level. One (1) of the scholarships will be reserved for a resident of Quebec, and one (1) will be reserved for an Indigenous applicant. These scholarships are valued at $5,000 CAD, available for 1 (one) year.

An eligible applicant must:

• identify as being a female Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
• be entering or already enrolled in full time studies in a first bachelor degree;
• be entering or already enrolled in a STEM program. STEM includes the following four disciplines; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics;
• have a minimum cumulative average of 75% (or equivalent) over the last three terms of available marks. Nonacademic courses such as career or personal development related courses will not be considered.
