Telesat Women in Engineering & Technology Scholarship

About the Scholarship:

This award is aimed at closing the gender gap and inspiring the next generation of women innovators and leaders. At a time when women continue to remain underrepresented in the fields of engineering and technology, and where technology continues to rapidly transform the way we live, we can and should work to empower more young women to take an active role in that transformation.

Number, Value and Duration of Scholarship

Up to 12 scholarships will be available at the bachelor’s degree or college diploma level.The scholarships are valued at $10,000 CAD, available for one academic year.

Awards will be distributed between students entering and already enrolled in postsecondary studies.

One of the scholarships will be reserved for a resident of Quebec, and one will be reserved for an Indigenous applicant.

An eligible applicant must:

• Identify as a woman who is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
• Are entering or already enrolled in full-time studies in a first bachelor degree or first college diploma;
• Are entering or already enrolled in a STEM program aligned with Telesat’s operations (listed in the guidelines);
• Have a minimum cumulative average of 70% (or equivalent) over the last three terms of available marks.
