VetStrategy Diversity Bursary for Veterinary Students


We believe in a level playing field for all in the veterinary industry, which is why we are investing in a bursary program supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) students on their journey to become veterinarians. Our bursary program is part of our wider commitment to supporting diversity across the veterinary profession and within our business.

Here's what you need to know.

NUMBER, VALUE, AND DURATION OF BURSARY

Up to ten (10) bursaries will be available for veterinary students. Bursaries are valued at $5,000 CAD, for one academic year. All applicants will have the opportunity to work with members of VetStrategy’s Talent Acquisition team on placement and employment opportunities.

We are also considering virtual networking and learning opportunities during the school year.

Eligibility

You are eligible if you:

  • Are planning to enter, or already enrolled in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at one of the five (5) eligible institutions during the 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Self-identify as a being part of the BIPOC community.

The financial background of your family will be taken into account during the application process, with priority given to students from lower household income families.

ELIGIBLE INSTITUTIONS

You are to study at one of the five (5) eligible institutions listed below:

  • University of Prince Edward Island / Atlantic Veterinary College
  • Université de Montréal / Faculté de médecine vétérinaire
  • University of Guelph / Ontario Veterinary College
  • University of Saskatchewan / Western College of Veterinary Medicine
  • University of Calgary / Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
