Ted Rogers Employee Scholarship
Objective
Ted Rogers Employee Scholarships are awarded annually to Rogers employees to help remove financial barriers to post-secondary education for employees or their dependents who demonstrate community leadership.
Value and Duration of Scholarships
Outside of Quebec: these scholarships are valued at $2,500 CAD, valid for one year. Within Quebec:
- CEGEP – technical diploma: these scholarships are valued at $500 CAD, valid for one year.
- CEGEP – pre-university diploma: these scholarships are valued at $500 CAD, valid for one year.
- University only – these scholarships are valued at $2,500 CAD, valid for one year.
Eligibility
An eligible applicant must be:- A current regular full-time or part-time Rogers employee, who has completed at least 3 months of continuous service OR dependents of regular full-time or part-time Rogers employees, including members of collective bargaining groups, who have at least 3 months of continuous service. Dependent children are described as biological or legally adopted children and stepchildren;
- Aged 25 and under;
- Be planning to enter the first year into full-time studies in a first bachelor’s degree or first diploma program or first trades program at a Canadian university, college or trades school;
- A Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
- Have a minimum cumulative average of 70% (or equivalent) over the last three terms of available marks*. Non-academic courses such as career or personal development-related courses will not be considered.
- Only available to eligible Non-Manager/Professional (Grade 5) level and below employees and their dependents;
- Employee must be in good standing – i.e. employees on a performance improvement plan may only apply following the successful completion of their plan;
- The employee must be employed by the company at the time in which the scholarship is awarded;
- Eligibility for this program extends to employees on approved leaves of absence (i.e. long-term disability);
- Tenure at Rogers may be a deciding factor when awarding the scholarships.
- Canadian educational institutions which have recognized or authorized degree/diploma-granting powers, or their affiliates (e.g. universities, colleges/CEGEPs).
- There are no restrictions on the program of study or discipline.
- Program must be of a minimum of two years in duration for a bachelor's degree or diploma program or a minimum of one year in duration for a trades program.
It is important that the individual who completes and submits the application (the applicant) is the individual who, if successful, will be the student receiving the scholarship and not the Rogers employee (unless eligible to apply). The applicant is considered as the owner of the application and must be eligible for the scholarship according to the program guidelines.
