The Veterans Bursary Program has been established to disburse monies from the Bursary Fund as per the Federal Court of Canada issued Court File Number T-463-07. The Court Order names Universities Canada as the administrator of the bursary program.
Universities Canada is pleased to announce that the Veterans Bursary Program will accept applications from November 22, 2024 to June 30, 2025 for the 2024-2025 academic year. It is important for the applicant and Class Member to review the Bursary Program Guidelines prior to submitting the application form to determine eligibility to the program.
A Class Member can designate themselves to apply for a bursary or can designate an eligible individual (spouse, child, grandchild, nephew or niece, son-in-law or daughter-in-law) to apply.
For more information, please download the program guidelines.
1. Designate Multiple Family Members
You may now designate multiple eligible family members; however, each person is limited to receiving only one bursary. Even if you have already received a bursary yourself or designated someone in the past, you are still eligible to designate additional family members.
2. Advance Payment for Upcoming Studies
Bursaries can now be paid upfront for studies beginning in September, provided a complete application and acceptable proof of registration are submitted, helping students plan with financial confidence.
3. Expanded List of Eligible Institutions
We now accept applications for studies at any reputable post-secondary institution, even if it is not listed on the CICIC directory.
